Jery and Joan spent Wednesday in Roswell doing research and learning more about the water rights and the land that is owned by Mr. Drake. They met with two registered land surveyors - one of whom who will be assisting us and the other who has been doing work for Drake.
Some misinformation regarding the Garden of Prayer was previously given. Drake has not deeded that to his wife. What has been surveyed out of the original 40 + acres and deeded to Vivian Drake is the back 30 + acres behind the cemetery. Originally, all of the 40 acres was in the name of Pecos Valley Cemetery Co. As well, the entire 38.6 acres of water rights are attached to the 40 acres.
We will have plats, deeds, a copy of the Roswell Artesian Basin - Hydrographic Survey (Photo) from the State Engineer's Office with detailed information available at the meeting to be held Tuesday, November 3, at 6:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Roswell. For those unable to attend, the minutes will be posted on the web page.
